My Time in Marin County

After we got home from Lake Tahoe, we went to Rodeo Beach.

It was the first time I'd ever been to the ocean.

I loved it.

The next day, was Sam's birthday.

For his party, we hiked all the way over Ring Mountain with some of his friends. When we finished, we had pizza and watched the new Harry Potter movie.

On Tuesday, we went to Muir Beach. The sand there was softer.

Sam and I had fun running from and playing in the waves.

Wednesday, we drove to the top of Mt. Tam.

It is the highest point in the county.

Then, we hiked through Muir Woods.

The redwoods there are some of the tallest living creatures on Earth.

Afterwards, we did some sight seeing and walked on the Golden Gate Bridge.

Driving Around the Lake.

When we woke up on the second morning, it was a bit cold. To warm up, we hopped into the car and drove all the way around Lake Tahoe. We stopped a few times to get a good look at the lake. It was beautiful.

Wave surfing at Tahoe

One of the things I liked to do best at Lake Tahoe was lay down in the sand and let the waves hit me.

It was fun.

I didn't know how big the next wave was going to be.

I found good skipping rocks there too.

Day Two at Lake Tahoe

The second morning we woke up in our tents at Lake Tahoe, we learned that a bear had been in our campground. Someone forgot to chain the dumpster closed and the bear helped himself to the campground's leftovers. Luckily, the bear is more interested in our food than us. We didn't have any idea one was so close.

My Birthday at Lake Tahoe

For my 11th birthday, I flew to California with my cousin, Sam. Aunt Mary invited me to come with them to Lake Tahoe to celebrate our birthdays. Our birthdays are just three days (and one year) apart.
